- Framed 22x33” acrylic/mixed media on a vintage coffee bean bag / Floater frame in Natural Blonde Oak
ABOUT THIS PAINTING
I painted this on a vintage coffee bean bag because sometimes the right surface finds you. The texture beneath adds another layer to the story, a history that’s not mine but becomes part of the piece anyway.
Unravelled is about letting things come undone. Not falling apart, but loosening the knots we tie ourselves into. The marks here feel scattered and searching, like they’re finding their way as they go.
There’s a rawness to working on burlap. It doesn’t let you be precious or overthink. It absorbs the paint differently, resists in some places, pulls it in elsewhere. That unpredictability kept me present.
Unravelling isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes it's the only way to find the thread that matters.
