ABOUT THIS PAINTING
If Rabbit Hole is about the fall, Wonderland is about the landing. It’s the strange, beautiful place you arrive at when you dare to explore the parts of yourself you’ve kept hidden.
I painted this with the same curiosity Alice must have felt, moving through a world where nothing made sense but everything felt significant. The marks are playful and unpredictable, layered with the kind of logic that only exists when you stop trying to control the outcome.
There’s something freeing about letting yourself wander without a map. The scattered colours and overlapping shapes reflect that sense of discovery, of stumbling onto something unexpected and realizing it was there all along.
Going deeper into myself has taught me that the inner landscape is just as wild and wondrous as any fictional world. Maybe more so, because it’s real and it’s mine.
