ABOUT THIS PAINTING
I made this piece when I finally allowed myself to stop holding everything so tightly. It’s about release, about letting the breath out after holding it in for too long.
The composition feels open and expansive because that’s what exhaling does. It creates space. The colours are playful and unguarded, moving freely across the canvas without trying to control the outcome.
There’s something lighter here. Not lighter as in less meaningful, but lighter as in unburdened. Like the difference between carrying something and setting it down. Creating this reminded me that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply exhale and make room for what comes next.
