ABOUT THIS PAINTING
Alice in Wonderland was my favourite book as a child. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of falling down the rabbit hole, that moment when you tumble into a world that doesn’t follow the rules you thought you knew. Rabbit Hole is my version of that descent, except the strange new world I’m exploring is my own.
The marks here are scattered and curious, moving in different directions like they’re discovering the terrain as they go. Nothing is quite what it seems. Shapes emerge and dissolve, colours shift and surprise. It’s disorienting and exhilarating at the same time.
Going inward can feel just as surreal as Alice’s journey. You encounter parts of yourself you didn’t know existed, pieces that contradict each other, emotions that don’t make logical sense. But there’s magic in that exploration.
Sometimes the most important journey is the one that takes us deeper into ourselves, even when we’re not sure where we’ll land.
